Ovarian Stimulation

Ovarian stimulation is the use of medications that act on the ovary resulting in the production of one or more mature oocytes (eggs).  Treatment is monitored using ultrasound and measurement of circulating blood hormones.

Who benefits from ovarian stimulation?

Women whose fertility problem is lack of ovulation.  It is used also in cases of unexplained infertility and as an adjutant for artificial insemination and in vitro fertilization.

Multiple Pregnancies

The use of medications to stimulate the ovary can result in pregnancies with more than one baby.
